The good news is that we have so many GTD fans on LinkedIn that our GTD enthusiasts group quickly reached 5,000 members. The bad news is that LinkedIn arbitrarily set a 5,000 member limit to groups. So for those of you trying to join the group, you aren’t able to at this time. Please be assured, we are working on this. We have a support ticket out to LinkedIn and are Waiting For a response. (Hey-any GTD fans work at LinkedIn and can nudge this request along??)
Update for those of you still waiting to join this LinkedIn group
We are so sorry, but after 3 emails to LinkedIn customer service, we have never received a reply to increase our group size. So we wait…
In the meantime, we encourage you to try GTD Connect (https://secure.davidco.com/connect/) which has a thriving community of GTDers from around the world, as well as our Facebook Fan page: http://www.facebook.com/gettingthingsdone?ref=ts
Hi, am a avid GTDer and keen to support them in recommending a lifting of the group limit number in LinkedIn! This, to allow the online GTD community to grow and share.
Thanks
Ryder
Now it’s interesting that facebook which much be a competitor for some users does not have this restriction. Maybe a request with a subject line that mentions facebook and draws attention to this fact might bring about someone at least opening the submission
I am impletmenting GTD using two iphone apps,
(1) Pocket Informant: my calendar, only date or time-specific events. PI calendar is great for its “week” view, alarm functionality, ease and flexibility of setting up repeated events (furnace filter, oil change, etc.), and very quick to use in the field.
(2) Action Lists. Great GTD next actions, with no ties at all dates or times. You can set up as many @CONTEXTS as you wish, and there is an inbox which I rarely use, projects folder which can link to any next action, regardless of its context. Also there is a “waiting” and “someday/maybe” folders.
These two programs together should satisfy just about any GTD’er with an iphone.
Jim
