  • Unplanned meetings in the way of planned ones

I have a lot of meetings daily. I have a lot of meetings to schedule in my lists. And there're unplanned meetings that usually take the space of planned meetings. I know it is not good to block time but is there any other option to give priority to the meetings I want to have instead of they want me to have. What is the best practice for top executives here?

By unplanned do you mean you have lots of small items to talk to people about that dont fall under a formal heading? Or do you mean you accidentally end up having meetings you didnt mean to, for whatever reason?

This is where the GTD Horizons of Focus can help tremendously with your priorities. If you try to make that decision on the runway (my calendar is open, so I should take the meeting, you will get buried). Get some altitude by going up the Horizons (Is this related to current Projects? Your current Areas of Focus? 1-2 goals? 3-5 year vision? Your Purpose?)

Read Making It All Work, if you haven't already. There's a book club on GTD Connect that walks you through the entire book as well.

If you know what the priorities are just do what's important.

I do not understand the problem. If you know what the priorities are just do what's important.
