  • What questions do you ask yourself during the Weekly Review?

    Hello everyone!

I thought it would be an interesting topic and an opportunity to do a nice mind sweep if we posted questions that we ask ourselves during the weekly review to get creative!

To get started, I know that David Allen added on his list "Have I acknowledged my staff enough this week?" (It may be slightly paraphrased, but that's the gist of it!

So fire away, and let's get a collective mind sweep started!

I am not very experienced with GTD and its not very different from the one you put up, but have for many years asked

"how have I affected the people in my life this week?"

Makes me often realize I have neglected too many of the ones close to me, to think through different situations that arose and come up with nice things to do for them, follow-ups, and if I have affected them in a positive way, it just makes me feel good

[QUOTE=jonathanwoodruff;107980questions that we ask ourselves during the weekly review to get creative[/QUOTE]

      Here's one

What have I done to manifest my One Little Word intention for this month during this week? (I know poor grammar but it works for me.)

My word for the year is Warrior and I have intentions for each month.

              Got this one from Kelly

I use this one, because I have a tendency to jump in to things too early sometimes:

What responsibility am I assigning myself or what am I taking on that I don't have to? Should something just be monitored, yet I'm trying to keep it from failing?

OK but not great, I have several things roughed out that are close to finished but have been working every spare minute on the LambTracker software so no time to do that. In fact I put all scrapbook projects into Someday/Maybe last week just to clear some room on my lists for the critical stuff with deadlines. OTOH I am making notes and stuffing them into my scrapbook project file for the project so I have all the material for when I get a couple hours to work on them.

Ah, creative... clean and clear is the easy part, creative is much tougher for me.

My biggest question is a tactical one, and I ask it before I even begin:
Do I have everything I need to do a complete review; lists, collection tools, actions and projects folders, things still in the inbox, some device with the internet, grab bag of goodies (post-its, stapler, scissors, tape, etc.), blank folders, labeler, notepad, and so on.

Just a quickie about my ever-evolving review process:
More often, I'm taking several days worth of inbox with me to my reviews (not ideal, but I get through it) so I need to streamline the process to get through it faster.

I have a special zipper pouch (thank you, Kelly) with plastic folders labeled:
                  Actions/Projects
                  File
                  Bills
                  Receipts
                  Shred
Trash (to take back to the office to dump)
So, after I've sorted the contents of my inbox, I can quickly go to the Actions/Projects folder, knowing that those are the only things that need to be added to my lists. Everything else is dealt with back at the office.

Good question, Jonathan! I'll dig deeper to see what other questions I ask/should be asking!
