  • Areas of focus help

I am setting up my areas of focus. Could anyone review to see if these items should go there?
    • Health and Vitality:
    • exercise
    • lots of sleep
    • biking (as I don't have a bike at the moment, this will be an R&D)
    • do weight exercise (this too will be a future project R&D)
    • Make fewer commitments

    • Finance:
    • contribute to retirement fund
    • increase my $ knowledge as much as possible
    • Have more uninterrupted time

    Thanks.

Areas of Focus drive projects and next actions. Health & Vitality and Finances are two good Areas of Focus. Some of the other entries might be part of text describing the area of focus, and/or projects. The latter would go on your projects list(s) or someday-maybe list(s). However, two of your entries, fewer commitments and more uninterrupted time, are probably resolutions, aspirations, affirmations or similar: things you want to be mindful of, but probably not areas of focus. You could put such items on a list for review, use a service like Lift, or use a tickler file to keep you mindful of them.

Reframe into something you want to look after for yourself

Your desire to have fewer commitments and more uninterrupted time, are representing someting you would like to look after better in your life, so reframe them so they become an area of focus. Then, you can pro-actively spinn off projects and next actions and work towards maintaining this optimal situation better.

Example: you may want to look after your work/life balance by taking on fewer commitments. So your project could be reducing your project load with 10 %, and your next action could be reviewing your projects list and nominating x amound of project you could move back to someday, delegate, or even quit.

If it's something you just need to be reminded of like an affirmation, you may want to use the Connect intention journal, that will flick you an email about it at a pace you choose.
