  • Pride Quotes

You did such a great job on Flexibility quotes, I thought I would ask for help with this month's word: Pride.

    This is pride as in:

a)Feeling of self-respect and personal worth
    b)Satisfaction taken in an achievement
c)The trait of being spurred on by a desire to meet high standards

Not the boastful kind of pride, where pride goes before a fall, etc. Thoughts? I appreciate it!

If one takes pride in one's craft, you won't let a good thing die. Risking it through not pushing hard enough is not a humility.
      Paul Keating

No man who is not pleased with himself can please others.
      Frederick Saunders

There's nothing enlightening about shrinking so other people won't feel insecure around you.

Thanks for your help with these quotes. Here are a few I came up with:

“Pride is the emotional high that follows performance and success. Pride is a primary source of energy and commitment.”
        Jon Katzenbach

“Pride is a determination to never do less than your best.”
        Vince Lombardi

“Pride matters, because without it we may not overcome obstacles, reach our goals or follow our dreams.”
        Lorraine Dorcante

”The man who does not take pride in his own performance performs nothing in which to take pride.”
        Thomas Watson
