  • Ticker system and road warriors

    Hi all

If you use a ticker file - do you take the whole file away with you or just the days you are on the road?? Anyone doing this in practice??

Sorry to ask another dumb question.

    Regards, Fi

Why should you need the whole file?

      Process ahead!

Process ahead of time the days I'll be gone, then ignore the tickler until I'm back. I don't travel all that often, or for very long (week at most) so this works well for me.

end of month processing of tickler

So transitioning say from Feb to March - when you initially put something in the following month's spot - do you write a date in March on the bit of paper, at that time in Feb that you get the paper, so that when you go to allocate all the 'March' stuff into March days, on March 1 - you know what day in MArch to put it in???

or do you make the decision about which day in March to put it in on March 1?? or Feb 28th??

Thanks for you help - I like the idea of tickler file but struggle with the practicality

I decide on March 1st. If I come across something that I want to be reminded about in the next month, I put it in that month's folder and don't worry about it until then.

Personally, I love the tickler file....

On end of month processing, it depends.

If I knew the date when I put it in the tickler, then I wrote it down at that time. Examples include concert tickets, conference schedules, and other event-specific stuff. Otherwise I don't worry about it until March 1.

And it usually is March 1, but it might be as early as February 27, or whenever the immediately previous Weekly Review is. It might even be March 2 or March 3, but if that's the case I do skim the pile on March 1 to see if there's something that I need to worry about before I have time to fully process the stack.
