  • How important is portable email?

I am just starting out on this GTD journey (haven't even finished the audio book yet), so bare with me

I am wondering if the idea is to get inboxes organized into actions, how important is it to have emails available on a PDA?

I'm looking at $15 vs. $42 for the portablemac app, the only feature diff relevant to me is mail.app sync capabilities.

    Thanks.

How often do you need the information in your email when you are away from a computer?

For me, the answer is almost never, so I don't worry about syncing my emails to my PDA. YMMV.

Organizing your inbox into actions does NOT mean dumping all your email into your NA list. If you do that, you've just moved the problem. Rather, it means identifying the next physical action associated with each email (if any) and putting that action on your NA list. Once you've done that, the email itself is either trash or reference information, and should be handled accordingly.

For me not important at all. But just in case I can peek into my inbox on the mail server (messages waiting to be delivered to my desktop computer) and send short responses via web page interface. I can do it from my Nokia 6670 smartphone or any computer connected to the Internet.
