  • Papers Associated with Someday Projects

Looking for ideas for what to do with papers that go with Someday projects. I don't want to set up a folder for each Someday project as it seems too much overhead for something I might never activate.

Example: magazine article on How To create a fabric wall panel. I have some fabric I might like to do this with Someday.

    an idea....

do several of them fit into one, slightly larger, project? This will cut down on the number of folders.

If I have, for example, articles about trips I may never take, I could make a list of Possible trips and file that with the associated paperwork.

Alternatively, you could just have a "Someday/Maybe" file (perhaps one of those expanding files) in which you tuck ALL of the paperwork. It might actually be kind of fun to pull it out once in a while and browse through what you've got in there.

    Just a few thoughts.

I've got several sets of folders that contain the small amounts of misc stuff for someday projects. My folders are labeled by the location of the project, so I have folders labeled Main House, Guest House, West Orchard Field, Cedars Pasture, Front Pear Orchard Pasture, Red Barn, Shop, Hay Barn, Main House Landscape, Main Orchard Ideas and so on.

Perhaps you can make a few folders for major areas of your life or categories and put stuff in there. Just be sure you reference the location of the supporting materials in the project info.

An example is this project listed in my Someday/Maybe List

Black Sheep Power and Light see file Main Orchard Ideas

The supporting material is in the file Main Orchard Ideas and consists of a short article on using Solar Panels as "trees" on farms to provide shade for the crops or animals while providing power to the grid. It's a Someday/Maybe project for me to replace some of the orchard trees with PV panel "trees". Our black sheep need shade so it would be a win/win except the panels and additional wiring infrastructure are way too expensive to consider right now. But I don't want to lose the idea or the info in how the farmer who did it set it up to provide shade for his flock.

Other things in that file include some info on Honey Locust trees as alternative fodder for sheep in fall as a flushing feed, an article on acidifying irrigation water using sulfuric acid and a short article on chestnut trees. All are things related to someday/maybe projects that would take place in the Main Orchard field but all are too short to warrant their own folder right now.

        Good Ideas

You've both pointed me in the same direction, which seems like a great and simple solution, so thanks. Love the specific examples which are certainly very different than ones I'd have!
