I am new to this. I looked at ThinkingRock and I it looks interesting. Can anyone tell me if it is easy to use?

Any input on ThinkingRock are highly welcome. My main criteria is simple to use. Can it be used offline. I downloaded the program and did everything to the tee, but can get it to work. I hope that is not a sign of how it works.

    Thanks

I'm uncertain about your post. Is it that you cannot get it to work after all the installation? I have not had any problem with installation. In fact, I just installed a new one on my new laptop.

I use it offline as a program on my pc. It is easy to use but it does have a lot of features that can make it complex. For example, I use topics because I like to make certain that I have projects across my various roles. I also use the project fields of purpose, vision, brainstorming, etc. for projects that I need to define more. You dont need to use any of those, which makes it simpler. It also lets you add in time, energy, priority, due date, action sequencing, all of which I don't use and haven't added. One of my favorite functions of TR are the project templates, which I reuse and customize since there are some recurring projects that arise. I also love the recurring next actions for all the repeatables in my life. I think it synchs with a lot of apps, but I can't tell you any of that since I don't use those features either.

As with all, it is really a matter of it fitting with your personal style.

I download the wrong app. I have the right one now but I wonder if there is much to setting it up. I looked at some helpful sceenshots.

      Is it portable?

      Thanks

It is. I put it on a flash drive. I recently installed it on a family member's pc and opened it easily. I also make printouts of the next actions and scheduled actions for when I'm out and about.

I am looking into ThinkingRock too. I agree about its being as simple or as complex as you want it. I would like to understand its concepts better, but rather than reposting here, I have already posted my concerns at their forum at http://www.trgtd.com.au/forum . I will not post the direct URL to my post here, as I assume cross-posting isn't a good practice, but I am nevertheless glad to see that there are people here who are actually happy to use TR. And yes, it seems the Australian folks are a bit slow in response, so should I receive no reply, I'll ask here.
