How to find the GTD Coordinator®

The GTD Coordinator®–our GTD paper planner created with Mead and sold in many Staples stores–has been wildly popular. Which has been great for those who have been able to get their hands on one, and a challenge for those who are still trying to locate one.  Here’s the latest (updated 04/26/2010):

  1. Thanks to David for sharing this link on Twitter. With so many hacks for the GTD planner around, it is good to know that David Allen & Co. have produced a product to please the masses. I’m looking forward to purchasing one of these planners and writing a review in the coming months. Very reasonable pricing, as well.

  2. The only problem is that you may have problems getting a refill for the calendar. Maybe it is just me, but it was frustrating to be pleased to find the Coordinator in my local store only to find that you would have to buy the entire Coordinator to get the calendar. I ended up just creating my own in Excel.

  3. NEED Calender refill pages! The paper just is not the same when you create your own. Plus, its difficult to find the right size paper or you have to cut it yourself (leaving edges that don’t always line up perfectly), and you have to have the correct size paper hole punch at home.

One other thing I wish they would change in the calender section is switching the actions and appointments section so that the appointments are closer to the center. I tend to write in the actions section on the fly while the appointments are usually more set in stone and less frequent. This means that the section more heavily used is close to the center where it is more difficult to write. However, changing this would also be more practical, when making appointments the entire week would be visible in the center of the book so you can quickly see when times are open and available.

  4. ATTENTION: Just spoke with Staples.com rep. The 2013 item numbers for the GTD Coordinator are 446448 and 446451.

  5. I went to my local Staples (where I purchased this last year)and they do not have the 2014 GTD Coordinator this year. I have also looked at Staples.com – Will this be available anywhere?

    Thank you in advance!

  6. Need 2014 refills for GTD Coordinator 8.5×11 and 5.5×8.5 both.

We bought and used 3 years of Tony Robbins’ RPM Planner, but the refills are very expensive and the holes are very very non-standard. If we cannot get the 2014 calendars and refills, then we will not buy another planning tool. If we must, we will simply fill these binders with blank graph paper. Sub-optimal and unbelievably poor business practice for an item which has been “wildly popular.”

  7. I am pretty frustrated that an organization that is supposed to be about organization and effectiveness has chosen to discontinue a widely utilized tool that they developed. In addition they only seem to develop alternatives in IOS platforms omitting the HUGE android user base. So I cannot get a digital version of y beloved GTD coordinator and apparently now I cant even hold onto my paper format which I have spent 3 3 years mastering and honing. I am beyond frustrated with the “gurus”. I am done.

  8. David Allen Company is working on a 2014 calendar/planner that will be in PDF format. You will be able to edit it for use as a GTD list manager on your computer, or print it out to use as for a paper system. We hope that this new product will more than fill the gap left by the discontinued Mead Coordinator. It will be ready by the end of 2013, and we’re working hard to get it released as soon as possible. We’ll announce it here on GTD Times and in the Productive Living newsletter.

  9. I am also looking for the 2014 Calendar. Please be so kind to let me know when this is available. Thanks

  10. Yes, the Junior size will be ready in the next couple of days. We’ll post about it on GTD Times and our other GTD social channels as soon as the Junior size is ready.

  11. Which binder would you recommend for the print out of my recent purchase of the junior size 2018 GTD organizer?
I am looking for something classy (leather or leather-like) with standard enough binding so that I know how to make the holes and a zipper around to hold well the content. Thank you very much.
